Mansarovar Lake

Mansarovar Lake, situated at an elevation of 4580 meters from the sea level. Lord Shiva and goddess believed to have bath in this Lake. The name of this lake has been derived from Sanskrit languages. “Manas” means mind or consciousness and “Sarovar” means Lake, which makes this Lake, a Lake of Consciousness and wisdom. Some People also believed that drinking the water of this lake one can sanctify his /her soul and physical body. As this lake has huge periphery it is difficult to Rotate this relatively circled lake.

The high lamas and devotees bathing, chanting and praying at the shore of the lake inspire the pilgrims to continue their circumambulation. A secure place in heaven is believed to be the reward of this exertion.   • Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu International airport to Hotel 
  • Day 02: Flight Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650m). Arrive in Lhasa either by flight or train. Tibetan guide will greet, receive you there and drive to your hotel. You may view the Yarlung  Tsangpo  River / Brahmaputra River (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa River on their way to Lhasa.  Take a rest to acclimatize in high altitude after check in hotel.  It also possible to walk around Potala Square, and get amazing photos of Potala Palace. Overnight in Lhasa.
  • Day 03: Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street. Breakfast, and sightseeing tour first visit the Potala Palace is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. Tibet Potala palace has 1000 chambers, the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. After lunch, tour to Jokhang temple built by the 33rd great kind of Tibet in 7th century to promote the Buddhist religion. Barkhor Street is the local Tibetan street around Jokhang temple; you can walk with pilgrims and locals, and shopping local Tibetan souvenirs there.
  • Day 04: Lhasa Tour - Drepung and Sera Monastery. Breakfast and continue Lhasa tour to visit Drepung monastery, one of the great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet built in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. Ganden palace used to be Dalai Lama’s palace in the Drepung before he moved to the Potala palace. In the Afternoon, we visit Sera Monastery, one of the “great three” Gelugpa monasteries of Tibet built in 1419 by Jamchen Chojey, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. The Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon is the main attraction of Sera Monastery. Stay overnight in Lhasa
  • Day 05: Lhasa - Yamdrok Lake - Shigatse (10 hrs, 370km) Breakfast and we drive through the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdrok lakes, Karo-La Glacier and Gyantse. Yamdro-Tso Lake and Kumbum monastery in Gyantse are the attraction of the day driving. Yamdro-tso Lake is shaped like coiling scorpion with deep blue in color and Kumbum monastery has a 35m-high chorten (stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and its crown-like golden dome.  After visiting Pelkor Choede, we continue drive to Shigatse which is the second biggest city of Lhasa.  Overnight in Shigatse
  • Day 06: Shigatse - Snakya - Tingri (10hr, 290km) Breakfast, visit Tashilhumpo monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama and drive to Tingri visiting Sakya monastery.  One of the very famous monasteries in Tibet, and we also cross the highest pass called Gyatso La (5200m) while driving to Tingri, the entrance of Himalayan Nature Reserve. Overnight in Tingri.
  • Day 07: Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery and Everest Base Camp (3 hrs, 90km) Breakfast and 2-3 hours drive to Rongpuk through new winding road in the mountains. On the way from Tingri to Everest Base Camp, you can enjoy the stunning mountain scenery; past the wild grassland, the torrent and soaring mountains. You can see the panorama of Himalaya range including the 4 mountains which are 8000m high and more to enjoy like Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Cho Oyou (8201m) and Mt Makalu (8463m), and even majestic view of golden summit of Mt. Everest at sunset. Stay overnight in Rongbuk Guest House or local Tibetan Tent.
  • Day 08: Rongphu Monastery - Everest Base Camp - Saga (8/9hrs, 460km) Enjoy the sunrise view on the top of Mount Everest and the giant pyramid view of Mount Everest in front of you at Rongbuk monastery, breakfast and continue drive to Saga via Peiku Tso Lake (4600m). Overnight at local guesthouse of Saga
  • Day 09: Saga to Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (9/10hrs, 550km) Breakfast and drive to Darchen via Drongpa and Manasarovar Lake is the holy lake of Tibetan and Hinduism. You can relax around the lake shore and experience the natural beauty of the lake. In late afternoon, we will reach Darchen, a small town at the foot of Mt. Kailash. Tour guide will assist tourists to arrange trekking yaks and porters and doing some preparation for your following 3 days trekking around Mt. Kailash. Overnight at local guesthouse in Darchen town
  • Day 10: Trek Day 1 - Darchen to Drirapuk (6.5 hrs, 11km) Drive 8km by an environment-friendly bus (40 minutes) to Sarshung, where porters are waiting for their clients, and we trek to Drirapuk (4920m). Stay overnight at the tent guesthouse of monastery.
  • Day 11: Trek Day 2 - Drirapuk to Zuthulpuk (22km, 12 hours) Breakfast and trek to Zhuthulpuk. This is the hardest and most tough trek crosses the Dolma-La pass (5630m) lying 6.4km ahead but 762m above Drirapuk. After taking a rest at the top of Dolma-La pass, you will descend staircase bringing you to Lhachu valley floor, taking about one hour from the pass, and the continue trek to Zuthulpuk. Stay overnight at the tent guesthouse of monastery.
  • Day 12: Trek Day 3 - Zuthulpuk to Darchen (11km, 7hours) Today, we will go through Milarepa's cave, where the temple and shrines have been built around. Then we walk back to Darchen is easy and the exit from the valley can be reached within three hours. At the ending point of the valley, the driver will come to pick you up and take you back to Darchen.  Stay overnight at the local guesthouse at Tarche
  • Day 13: Drive Darchen  to Saga 08:00 AM – After short Trek (2 hrs) and reach to the point where the coach will be waiting and we will drive to Darchen and merge with other members who were waiting and drive to Saga Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Hotel: Saga Hotel or similar.
  • Day 14: Drive Saga  to Kerung Back journey, drive to Kerung County.  Overnigh t stay at Guesthouse.
  • Day 15: Drive to Kathmandu Drive back to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi border completing immigration formalities – around 8-10 hr / 265 km.  Hotel: 3 Star Hotel – Manang  Hotel, Tibet hotel or similar .

  • Day 01:Arrival Kathmandu (1300mts). On arrival, our staff will meet you at the airport and escort to the Hotel, then after having your own free stroll around there in local bazaar, in evening, it’s the dinner time, and overnight stay in Kathmandu hotel.
  • Day 02: Kathmandu-after breakfast, start to Kathmandu guided sightseeing Pashupatinath temple and Budhanilkantha Darshan (Jal Narayan), and then back to hotel and rest of the day is free for packing and program briefing for your trip to Kailash& Mansarovar Yatra as well as we show documentary of Kailash.
  • Day 03:Drive Kathmandu to Nyalam (3700 meters - 160 kilometers) - This is the first day of the Yatra. After breakfast, the departure starts from Kathmandu to Nepal -Tibet border by private tourist coach. It takes about 05 hours to reach Nepal-Tibet boarder. Take lunch in Nepal side in Lipping nearby Nepal Tibet friendship bridge, our staff will complete customs formalities, immigration in Nepal side and check into Tibet side an autonomous part of China. After checking, we drive to a Zhangmu as known Khasa bazaar by Nepali, here stop 10-15 minutes and drive to small Tibetan town called Nyalam journey by Van / Hiace or Deluxe bus. Nepali cook make vegetarian food for all yatrie, traveler. Overnight stay in Guest House / Hotel
  • Day 04: In Nyalam, after breakfast, climbs up of Nyalam city about 1 & half hours for acclimatization excursion. Come back, take lunch & afternoon free
  • Day 05: Drive Nyalam to Dongba (4500 meters – 365 kms). After breakfast, drive from Nyalam – Lalunga La pass 5050 meters, Peku-tso Lake, Salt Lake (Nunilo Tal) & reach to Saga city after 6 hours. On the first day long driving from Nyalam to Dongba over the sandy & rocky lands of Tibet. Nomads look for thousands of sheep & yaks keep you busy. Day time, we take hot lunch box for our yatri, traveler & we stop for lunch nearby PekhuTso Lake or somewhere. After lunch continue drive to & cross the BhramhaPurtra River way to Tibetan city Saga. Saga city is bigger city having many facilities way to Kailash&MansarovarYatra tour. Here takes some rest and then drive continue to Dongba, it takes one hour or little bit more drive from Saga 115 kms). Over at night guest house
  • Day 06: Dongba - to Mansarovar Lake 4580 m. - 370 kilometers– 6-7 hours. After breakfast, drive from Dongba to Mansarovar Lake. Today is good driving day starts with full of excitement, by the afternoon you can have the first sight of Holy Kailash Parbat and Mansarovar lake from Horchu. For lunch, we make hot lunch box and some where we stop for lunch. After Lunch continue drive to Mansarovar lake & we reach Horchu, a small village near by Mansarover Lake & we starts round Mansarovar lake from here and about 2/3 hours drive very nearby Lake, Mansarovar lake is so big and it take 3 to 5 days to make round by walking. Round Lake is 102 Kilometers. Round of this Lake, there is 8 Monasteries. Finally we reach to Chiu Gompa, near the Mansarovar Lake. Full moon night in Mansarovar Lake (Purnima)
  • Day 07: Mansarovar Lake to Darchen (4600 meters – 40 Kilometers.) – Morning, we will choose the special point to take deep dip in Mansarovar Lake taking bath in cold water, According to Hindu religion, is seen offering water, flowers, money to the God and after don Pooja of Lord Shiva & Parbati. The pilgrims are seen meditating in Lord Shiva and reciting the names of their ancestral gods, performing hom (offering grains mixed with butter to the fire) in the name of gods, in order to relieve themselves from any kind of sins which they might have committed knowingly or unknowingly. After completing homs, they are exchanging happiness by cuddling each other, much to the amusement of the onlookers. Everybody is doing Aarati (oil-fed lamps) and praying by joining hands.
  • Full day is given free for spiritual activities. Take lunch, around 2:00 P.M. afternoon drive to Darchen, and overnight stay is guest house. Astapad excursion also can be done interested pilgrimage.
  • Day 08:Drive Darchen to Tarboche (Yamadwar -gate of the god of death) & 5 minutes further drive & it comes Sershong, from here starts walking to Dirapuk (4890 meters - 15 kilometers ) – Monastery. Here some Yatri can take pony & local porter for 3 days.(If you take pony & porter) You should tell in Mansarovar Lake and Tibetan guide will be manage all before starting Kora. If you take pony for round Kailash, much and much easier for doing Yatra tour, this is the first day of KailashParikrama. We should start our journey after breakfast as early as possible. This day, we have to walk continuously for about 5 to 6 hours. Yak will carry all our goods and equipment, From Diraphuk, You can see mount Kailash north face is much closed, looks Shiva god staying there. Overnight stay at Diraphuk mud house
  • Day 09: Dirapuk to Zutulpuk (4790 meters - 22 kilometers ) - Today is very sensitive and we have to pass Dolma-La or Dormal Pass, which is 5636meters above the sea level. The weather in unpredictable in Doma-la Pass and at any time snowstorm can fall. So we try to start our journey as early as possible. In route we can have Darshan Ganesh Kund before pass and after Gaurikund as well as but it is little bit difficult to go down split walking path and touch Gaurikund Lake. From Dirapuk, slop climb up & up till to Dormala pass, after pass go steep down till ShapjeDatok& after flat path till Zutulpuk monastery. Overnight stay in mud house
  • Day 10: Zuthulpuk to Mansarovar Lake – Dongba: after breakfast, walk down to the Chongdo about 3 hours and drive to Darchen, take Lunch here & after lunch, drive to Mansarovar and fill up spiritual water from Mansarovar Lake (Holy Jaal). Continue drive to Prayangfor overnight.
